Animated disaster film based on the book by Raymond Briggs. A sweet old couple living in rural England prepare for nuclear war by building a basic shelter and practising wearing paper bags, naive to the absurdity of their simple and bizarre precautions. When the missiles hit, Jim and Hilda survive the blasts but start to feel unwell - unaware that fatal radiation poisoning is taking its toll on them.
